I’m off to Sheffield this week for the Children’s Media Conference, the annual get-together of everyone and anyone in the UK children’s telly biz. It’s a really fun event, jam packed with panel sessions, workshops, meetings, pitching and networking. I’m one of their official bloggers (my 2nd year) which means I file reports on various sessions so if anyone misses anything, no-one misses out. Even if you’re not going, the blog re-caps are a good resource, as is the CMC’s general website.
It’s not all blog, blog, blog, while I’m there. I’ll get to attend some sessions and workshops for fun, and Tim Clague and Jan Caston will be there to fly the flag for Nelson Nutmeg Pictures (Tim’s even on a panel about making family films, special reference to Who Killed Nelson Nutmeg? of course). Nelson Nutmeg post-production continues apace, and we’ve nearly got the whole film to rough cut stage, with music and sound design on the go. We’ve also just got involved in another UK indie family film called 2 Hrs (about a teen who discovers he’s only got 2 hours to live!), so if you’d like to check that out a bit more, and even support it, click this link. Exciting times!
