We hit our Kickstarter target for “Who Killed Nelson Nutmeg?” yesterday! YES, THANK YOU, GET IN THERE! Really delighted with this, especially with three days to go on the campaign. I did a little bit of crowd funding via the blog for my short film Origin back in 2009, but a Kickstarter campaign is a whole new experience. Naturally, I’ll be blogging about what I’ve learned, and how myself and Tim went about it (just because we successfully reached our target doesn’t necessarily mean we did a GREAT campaign, I’m sure there are things we missed or could have done better).
For now, it’s all about generating the final Kickstarter total to help us with our stretch goals we have in mind. Stretch goal #1 is so we can secure a cameo from a leading UK actor to give the film even broader appeal. Stretch goal #2 is to shoot three very exciting scenes that require complex special effects, currently out of our reach.
At the moment, we’re in the thick of pre-production and busy finalising the script, cast, costume and props. We start filming at the end of August, so it’s all go, go, go! Thanks as ever for all your nutty support. More updates soon!
